Pastor - is a clergyman of a Christian church - rarely, a layman - performing a spiritual care over a curacy, a certain group of people or a certain person and who is ordained to conduct a religious worship. Priests and bishops of Catholic, Protestant, Eastern and Oriental Orthodox churches are usually referred to as pastors. The word "pastor" derives from the Latin language and literally means "shepherd". The ecclesiastic term "pastor" derives from the Old Testament, where the word is used in the description of sheep-feeding and providing the people with spiritual values. In the New Testament Jesus Christ is called a "Good Shepherd"; parson, preacher, rector.
